HELPFUL TIPS

This new addition is in an ongoing effort to provide the best living experience to our valued residents. Your maintenance team is now offering a newsletter filled with helpful tips to improve your quality of living. If in the future you would like
to offer your input we would be happy to share it with the rest of your neighbors. In this first addition we will be providing you with useful information to maintain your home and below are some ideas.   Please note that your maintenance department is available 6am-2:30pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to assist you with any concerns or problems you might have and if there is a major emergency, please page the manager at: 310-709-4104.

*    Cleaning of your Granite counter-tops is vital to maintain the stone.  Granite is a natural stone and is porous.  The only product that should be used to clean the granite is soap and water. Any other cleaning product breaks down the seal allowing oils and grease to be absorbed.

*    Bath and shower enclosure have been treated with a glaze and the products used to clean could prolong the life of the glaze.  No ammonia products, abrasive products and bleach Tilex, Comet should not be used.

*    All garbage disposals have limits to what they can grind.  These are items that can cause you a headache or maintenance call.  Grease, Potato/carrot peels, celery or string like vegetables, pasta, egg noodles, rice, raw meat and/or bones.  Fruit peels, apple cores, pineapple husks, corn husks and egg shells are also items that can not be ground up by the garbage disposal.

*    Use of the lavatory also has limits.  Cotton balls, Q-tips, dental floss, diapers and feminine products can not be flushed.  Also be aware of small items near the area that can accidentally fall in and cause serious problems.

*    If water is overflowing from the lavatory there is a very important item that can save you from a large water issue and possible damage.  This is known as “angle stop”.  In the event that the toilet is overflowing the angle stop turns off
the flow of water and is located at the bottom left side of toilet. Turn this handle until it shuts off then call for maintenance.

*    Smoke detectors are bi-annually checked.  However it is a good practice to check and make sure they are working.  Please locate the button on the front of the detector and hold until a beeping sound is heard.  This lets you know that the
battery is still good.

*    Doing laundry?  Here's a great tip! Why not pick up a kitchen timer to help you keep track of your laundry cycles.  With this small tip, each resident will have ample space and available machines to do their laundry as well.

*    Have you taken a nice relaxing soak in our Jacuzzi yet??  Don't forget this wonderful amenity.  After you have engaged in a great work-out in our fitness center with Cable TV, be sure to take advantage of the wonderful, Italian Tiled,
Over-sized/Indoor/Outdoor style Jacuzzi right across the way.
